Art History - Contemporary Project

I had a project due today for my Art History & Aesthetics class. Basically I stayed up all night and well now my project is done and ready to hand in.

I decided to con-temporize one of Leonardo Da Vinci's well renowned drawings of the Virtruvian Man by replacing the male figure with Lady GaGa. I know, I know it's pretty silly but if you ever watched her music video's you'd understand.

Anyways I rushed through the project so I'm not completely satisfied with the final piece, I feel like I could have done a lot more if I didn't procrastinate all week. The type of media I used are ink pens, tea and soya sauce (you can imagine the smell) on Fabriano paper . I think I'll plan on using my illustration for a future GaGa t-shirt, so for those thinking about snatching my idea; think again!

Here are some step by step photos I took in order to get this ancient like texture on my paper, enjoy!

Step 1: Ink out your lineart

Step 2: Splat some Tea on dat paper

Step 3: Make sure to spread and drip the excess tea

Step 4: Make sure to bake your paper so that the tea gets a nice golden look to it.

Step 5: Add some Soya Sauce to enhance the contrast and BAM it's done!
