Metro Rides

Once again I'm posting another project I'm working on for school. Our class was asked to draw an image that involved two live models from our previous session and to place them in an environment of some sort with only using contour lines and patterns.

Lately I've been drawing a lot of Metro related stuff and thought it be fun to stick with the theme this semester. So I decided on having my models on the STM, I know the perspective is off but what matters at this point is demonstrating how we can portray distance using line thickness and the movement of patterns.

I started out by drawing each model seperately on a different sheet of paper, this also includes the background (metro). I later scanned each piece individually and re-arranged the way i'd like them to fit as a whole through photoshop.

So as of right now I'm slowly filling in the lines of my sketch and eventually I'll have the patterns put in near the end.

Charcoal Portrait

Alright so for observation drawing I needed to draw a portrait in charcoal and it has to be due for tomorrow. I'm a procrastinator so that means late nights with lots of coffee. Chose to draw Sara Quin as a tribute to their new album coming out "Sainthood".

Approx spent 6hrs on this so far, still have another hour to invest. Did i mention that this portrait is 19x25?
