Old & New

Alright, so this "Old & New" project for my Visual Presentation class (which is basically a photoshop class) is about taking an old photo from the past, and combining it with a new one. The task of the project was making the new photo seem like it's part of the past, which was tricky depending on the quality of the photo, positioning ofthe person and overall lighting.

Anyways I decided to go with an old photo of my mom and her Chevy Impala Sports Coop. I thought it be cool to surprise my mom with a photo of her and my sister dress up in some 80's clothes. So with that said I got my sister dressed in whatever we had lying around the house and ended up with a leather jacket, acid wash jeans, some old school looking shades. I would have poofed her hair, but my sisters hair is anti-poof soo we just kept it slick.

Also if you notice, my sisters jeans are only shorts, so I had to extend them in the combined photo. I think the hardest part of this project was adjusting the lighting. The colors from the old photo made it hard to match in the new photo, and i had trouble getting the skin tone to match without blurring it too much. Overall the turn out was ok, I was happy with how the photo looks from the waist down, but wasn't too satisfied with the face/lighting from the new photo, at least it's done!

Mob Boss Character

Right now I'm in the process of making a model sheet for my character. Not sure what to name him yet, anyways it's for my animation class and I can't wait to put him in motion.

I'll try to upload the final model sheet & animation once I'm done. On a side note if any of you can think of a name for this little guy let me know!

UPDATE: (Sept 26/ 2010)

The final 2 pages of my model sheet, poses, expression and body actions, 2 emotional and 2 physical. Right now I'm in the process of animating a jump cycle, and so forth which I'll post later!
