Oooooh
I love you so
But why I love you
I’ll never know
You ripped out my heart and you stepped on it
I picked up the pieces, Before you swept on it
Wasn’t I a good king?
(Maybe too much of a good thing, huh?)
Didn’t I spoil you?, Me or the money, what you loyal to?
(Huh, I gave you my loyalty)
Made you Royalty and royalties
(Took care of these niggas lawyer fees)
And this is how ni**as rewardin me
(Damn)
Had a great time, was very peaceful and gave me time to catch up on some still life drawings as well as some photography. I haven't been to this place since 2002, so it was nice to re-visit my grandfathers chalet out in Maki. Overall I met some interesting folks on the reserve; completely different lifestyle out there, sometimes I wonder how they manage with such little necessities. Anyway they were great company, and surprisingly enough one of the girls on the reserve was a photographer, I couldn't help but think of the novel "Medicine River" by Thomas King. Other then that I learned some history along the way, went fishing, played cards, sat around a fire and reminisced the times shared with my grandfather
Felt nice being away from technology and work, was definitely relaxing! If I had the choice I would do it more often, it's good to get away sometimes. My only complaint was the 7-8hr drive going up and coming home. Did a lot of sleeping, and listened to a lot of radio haha. Half way home I overheard this song on the radio and funny enough it reminded me of someone I knew and this moment we shared. Felt nice to clear my mind yet reminisce on the good times, great weekend!
